About

My artistic journey began in primary school with clothing design. The relationship I formed with form, surface, and material during those years gradually moved beyond the simple desire to “design,” leading me first to fashion design and then to painting. The discipline I gained through textiles continues to inform my practice today: layering, texture, rhythm, and sensitivity to surface form the unseen backbone of my work.

I was born in Ankara in 1988. I graduated from Gazi University’s Textile Department in 2009 and later from its Department of Art Education.

Art is not merely about producing an image; it is a way of thinking through the memory of materials and structuring emotion. In my work, I build narratives through traces, repetitions, and layers that accumulate on the surface. Each work takes shape as a singular experience, carrying craftsmanship, the imprint of time, and details that reveal themselves upon closer viewing.

I began my professional career as an art teacher. Over time, however, I moved toward a broader artistic practice shaped by my personal work and projects across different disciplines. Contemporary art—an area in which I completed a minor and continue to research—has become one of the principal sources that nourish and transform my work. Through it, both my technical approach and conceptual language continue to evolve.
